Good to see the bags on the belt and onwards for the Westjet transfer counter, as far as there is one?.
Joke, there isn´t something like this, a very small corner in the baggage area only with a couple of people waiting where they also sort out or try to sort out baggage issues.
A young guy is walking the queue from time to time and asked for pax with onward boarding passes. They are good to go for an extra desk where the bags are labeled.
But we are not checked-in right now till a young and nice woman opened another desk and waved us in.
Lucky us, there is still a free row available, the bags are off again and we are released for the next security check.
That´s it?. Worth all the time to wait?. Some more staff sounds like a good idea!. That´s it, have a nice flight!.
There is a 738 on the paper, now we will see.
No, this one is to short, maybe next week!.
But the next one looks like sharp with the winglets and the black coloured stripe under the cockpit windows
No lounge used here with the shortened time now.
Yes, this is it from gate B24
C-FWSE belonging to Westjet since 07.08.2009. Come on, is it so difficult to give the planes a name?.
It is the scheduled 737-800, leg no. 75 on type and new to the log. 21 planes on type are in the fleet and this machine is well known here:

Boarding now at 08.15 pm, what is 30 minutes late
with a relaxed welcome from the flightdeck, all crew is introduced by name and ready to leave "Toronto Pearson International Airport".
The plane is just arrived from Puerto Vallarta and the custom guys like to have a closer look around.
"The captain" is once more to hear short later on during descent.
3.45 hours to fly on "Westjet", departure from runway "Two-Three" like arrivals.
22 degrees and just a few clouds
Cabin crew is one elder male FA, ok,
two elder also ok women
and one younger, nice, cute, black hair, woman.
With this map on the inseat screen we are heading further west
The load is 90%, VFR travellers and 26D/E/F is good enough for us.
Legroom is acceptable here with the dark grey leather seats and the clean so far cabin. Also a magazine is on offer
Service is water and a salty snack.
The safety card in the dawn
Flightlevel is 37000 and later up to 39000 feet.
Well, Canada is a really big country
"Edmonton International Airport" welcomes us at the 3109 meters runway "Three-Zero", it´s 10.10 pm now, 15 minutes late with 20 degrees and clear sky.
The bags are swiftly out and we´re too, looking for the free shuttle bus.
We are tourists and don´t know the way, or not?.
There is a van loading pax not with our hotel sign but anyway we asked and the driver decided to fill up his van and do a short detour for the Best Western Plus Denham Inn and Suites, where we arrived just a couple of minutes thereafter, wished the young guy a good drive together with a nice tip.
Welcomed by a friendly young male, our room on the upper floor is prepared as requested and after something to eat from the shop closeby we called it a night
It will be a short night, nothing really new to me, with a flight to catch pretty early the next morning.
Any idea where we should go?
You know, I´am the clueless, scared tourist. I´ve payed a lot of money and waited for something modern, reliable and up to date like an A320!. But was is this?. An aircraft with a large hole in the fuselage on one side. Is it really safe to fly such an oldfashioned looking plane, with this nowhere else before seen long and small engines?.
And if my companion had not persuaded me, I would never flew with this plane. Never, ever!:
And further by this one.
Come on, do you really believe that I will do a flight on such an outdated looking plane. Not at 1000 Dollars, no way, absolutely no way. This is much to risky for the clueless, scared tourist like me:
Anyway, here are the conclusions till now:
1.)Airlinair MLH/BSL-CDG: A calm late morning service.
2.)Air France CDG-YYZ: An afternoon nap above the pond.
3.)Westjet YYZ-YEG: A sleepy evening for Alberta.
Patience please, stay tuned,
the TRIPREPORTER
