#CANADA #CentralMountain #CampbellRiver #B1900D
This story is dedicated to Greg, the people are so relaxed here up the north
The trip in one word:
EASTBOUND
"Three legs to go, starting the long treck for the homebase, is the theme around this story"
Hi again, dear readers,
right now there are 16 legs in Canada in the books. But that´s not enough!. And this is the way to go further:
Thanx, as usual, to:
http://www.gcmap.com/
Exploring the features of YBL right now, "Campbell River Airport", if there are really some!.
Well, we are sitting in the sun at a bench right beside the small door for the apron.
A couple of american best agers doing just a flight for fun
up the north and one of the local´s on the acrobatics exercises
The well sized terminal for local standards and the lonely one on the apron waiting for something to do
The guys working the heli and some clouds coming in
We had some chat with the americans at the door
and also later on with another middle aged american guy.
And this was a real positive chat.
We talked about life here on the northern islands,
the airport, the surroundings and it turned out that he is working as a pilot. Not that someone beside me is especially interested in this!. More talking, he had some spare time left and finally invited us for a tour around the apron and his plane.
Greg, good to meet you so far up the north
A really good looking one, isn´t it?
The office and something else is coming in
Friday, 23.08.2013

Here we have an directly by AirCanada fixed ticket,
six legs on one confirmation.
The fare per leg is 50.00 Euro´s.
No OLCI for the extraterrestrians!. Sure I know,
but the lady at the counter does the job anyway nice and relaxed with no one else beside us here.
Something new, hopefully
Ok, it´s a less flown plane and also ok, it´s a less flown airline, but anyway this one is already logged.
C-FCMO, one of these very few birds without an individual name!. Leg no. 4 on the Beech 1900D like on schedule and the second time here.
In the air since 12.08.1997 with Central Mountain Air and also Northern Thunderbird Air.
13 planes are actually in the fleet and there is a story:
http://avherald.com/h?article=4238eb54&opt=0
But it looks like anyway good.
No lounge here by the way
Loading some cargo
And also loading some human cargo from gate, well, no numbers needed here!
The load is 100%.
Free seating it is and the canadian captain, a younger guy, with a nice welcome during boarding.
He called men upfront, this is no joke,
and women in the rear, to balancing the also well loaded cargo bay.
No FA on this service and the FO also with a nice welcome at the planes door. No service, no route info.
Flightlevel is 6000 feet.
Well, we need some more revolutions for the way down the south!
Like this way
"Glacier" just departed from the 1981 meters runway "One-Two". Partly cloudy sky and 20 degrees.
Ontime, 1.00 pm, 35 minutes to fly now
and the usual way to confirm the plane type
Wing and engine view
Riding above the island
Good legroom, at least left hand side, 1/2 A,
the cabin fitted with dark blue, well used leather seats
Some work is also done down there
Not that far from Vancouver
This logo looks like really nice
We´re leaving and the clouds coming!
Finals
Short finals for "Vancouver International Airport"
Perfectly good to follow this way
Touchdown at the 3505 meters "Zero-Eight-Right". 1.30 pm,
ten minutes ahead to schedule and 24 partly cloudy degrees
Parked beside these sistership
And bye now to Central Mountain Air
Bye for now.
