YZF (Yellowknife Airport - Som-ba Kay Miffinga)
YEG (Edmonton International Airport)
Service 5T 445 operated by Canadian North
Scheduled: 17.00 // 18.35
What about the Visited Countries map?:

Here are the first 200 visited airports:

And the new places:

Now that´s the one, so it looks like and it´s a 732, what counts!
A new frame should be nice
The fare with the flight booked by Fly.de is 170.00 Euro´s
and you never know about the equipment, therefore it´s ok so far to go this way.
These view is simply lovely
No lounge here, no problem and apron boarding from gate 1.
A Buffalo DC-3 on a cargo mission
There are some problems with the front undercarriage to notice
A Jetstream from Northwestern Airlease, also interesting
And C-GWIR heading for the runway, the very same flight and route on these very nice machine yesterday for us and also the plane from our early morning inbound flight today.
Have a closer view, it looks like so nice
Very short thereafter I see the firefighters out of the office, heading for the runway. What´s going on here?.
My intro to the trip in one word was "Emotional" and I recommend for everything what follow´s now, to have a view on this article first:

Most important is that everyone, pax and crew survived without major injuries.
But imagine how it feels like, when you follow this from the apron while boarding another flight
Everything feels paralyzed, like a timestop, simply nothing moves
People in line and the firefighters at work
Remember the oil leakage at the right hand engine in the morning?
No fire, thanx god, or quickly extinguished by the firefighters
After what it feels like an eternity boarding for our flight goes forward and the other runway reopens with these Dash-7 in Greenland colours
Also the Canadian North pilot was out of his office on the apron to have a view around what´s going on.
We waited for a good time on the plane till the captain is on the mike, informed the pax about the crashlanding and that everyone on the plane is ok, no serious injuries and we are ready to leave soon.
No route info, flightlevel is expected at 31000 feet.
6.00 pm, 1.00 hour late, 1.35 hours by "Empress" from the 2287 meters runway "One-Six".
18 partly cloudy degrees
And imagine the awkward feeling now to leave
"Yellowknife Airport" or also "Som-ba Kay Miffinga"
after all these experiences today
The load is 100%, all seats are taken, nothing else expected by the way.
This is C-GOPW, one more 732C, planes like this need no individual names!.
New to the log and leg no. 2 on type
In the air since 30.09.1980 with Pacific Western, Canadian Airlines, Air Canada and finally Canadian North.
Lucky us, another example of the 5 combi´s in the fleet.
And it seems engine shut down´s in flight are not uncommon here:

Cabin crew is all female today.
One elder, large, blonde, nice.
One more elder, biz friendly style.
One middle aged, blonde, slim, nice
18 A/B this time, legroom is good here with the oldfashioned thick brown fabric seats. Clean so far and well maintained with the safety card and also something to eat
Well done by Canadian North
Above the lakes
How I like these engine
It looks like so good
Above Edmonton
And finals for the "Edmonton International Airport"
The captain with a relaxed bye-bye during approach with the latest weather details.
Touchdown at the 3109 meters "Three-Zero".
7.40 pm, 1.05 hours late and 18 partly cloudy degrees.
Retro, that´s how I like it
The final bye-bye now for the classic after such a unexampled day
Some minutes more this time for the dedicated shuttle bus. But ok in the end and ready to check-in by a less interested
elder woman at the Executive Royal Inn Leduc-Nisku
The hotel itself is one more of these acceptable accomodations around Edmonton airport
The conclusions are to follow here right now:
1.)Buffalo Airways YHY-YZF: Just a superb experience.
2.)Canadian North YZF-YEG: Mixed emotions after the incident at Yellowknife.
There is something more Canada to come in western direction.
Bye now, take care, it´s important, you know,
