This ticket consists of two parts, the fare for the first and also this part of the story is 150.00 Euro´s secured directly via the SU website.
With the like earlier stated unsuccessful try in November I´ve don´t checked anything again after the booking. No view for the reservation at all.
And therefore imagine how I hold my breath when I decide to do OLCI what is available 24 hours prior to the flight from the hotel.
A deep, deep breath and hard to believe it works, the seatmap shows no changes, no, it´s there and that´s really, really special, lucky me.
No paper printed, as usual, the young woman at the desk is really nice, but has also a somewhat hard time till she found something in her manuals about a german passport leaving Turkey for Russia, changing terminals and further for the Ukraine without a visa for both countries.
You know, it´s important to be on that plane, extremely important!.
But finally she printed the boarding passes and I´am good to go.
No, I´am not excited, no way, enjoying the lounge as relaxed as possible!

Welcome to my very first experience on the Ilyushin Il-96-300
RA-96010 "N.Karpeyev" it is
First in service in 1994 and all the time with Aeroflot. Three examples are active right now.
Incidents on the Ilyushin?. No way!

Who needs an EK plane like in the background with something like this available?
Nice talking during boarding with one of the FA´s, Boris, as senior like the plane, confirmed my impression. This is a 100% load, not a single open seat all around. Much more lucky me without an equipment change.
And hard to believe to see all these big shopping bags.
It seems Istanbul is sould out now!.
6 FA´s are on the plane, all senior or elder at least. Boris and Ljubov working the rear cabin, both really talkative and attentive, a really good impression here.
And when they noticed my special interest later on, Ljubov decided to show me a bit of the cabin features and offered to do some pictures, not that I´ve asked for.
The door looks like, well, just a little bit outdated!

And the cabin without the middle compartment looking like just a little bit, well, spacious!
In fact, it feels like enormous large and spacious
The take off needs ages, but it flies, yes, it really flies!.
2.30 pm, just some 25 minutes late "Aeroflot" leaving the
"İstanbul Atatürk Havalimanı" and the 3000 meters "Three-Five-Left". 2.25 hours with high fog and 10 degrees.
Cockpit crew is from Russia and just for the case that someone is waiting for, yes the "капитан" or maybe also the captain is to hear with superfast infos inflight, as fast as the plane!.
It´s cloudy most of the time in the air and like on the Antonov 148 experienced not that long ago, the flight
commands are much more direct to follow than on the western style planes.
37J for me, the second to last row window two seater.
The aisle is taken by a young boy with the parents in the last row. He spill´s some water inflight also on my trousers, but well, better water than beer, isn´t it?
And it´s quiet here, unexpectedly quiet
Legroom is nothing special to say the least

Ok, it´s Aeroflot served with free drinks and coffee, tea, several times
And the typical russian system with the production date and you´re own opinion how long is it good to use!

But it works, believe me, it works like it should work!
The cabin ceiling with a crinkle?
