Yes, it is!.
Tripsta works the ticket this time, two legs on the confirmation.
The fare per leg is 35.00 Euro´s
and OLCI shows me what I´am looking for 48 hours prior to departure with the Air Europa website.
The boarding pass is homeprinted to avoid any detours.
And what´s on the screen?
Gate D57 and
boarding is pretty well ontime, earlier than expected with a lot of people around.
Ahem, are you sure that this load is possible on an AT72?
Well, it seems so!.
This is EC-KAD, no individual name to notice, an ATR 72-200, an oldie with the first flight noticed at 14.06.1990 with Compagnie Corse Mediterranee, some time with West Air Europe till Swiftair and several leases to Maya Island Air, OLT Express and Antrak Air Ghana. And it seems it really enjoyed the last time in Africa.
It is back in Ghana since just a couple of days ago, working together with two sisterships.
This is leg no. 30 on type and new to the log.
Here is a short story:
http://avherald.com/h?article=451c0b32&opt=0
6.15 pm, ontime it is, "Swift" for 1.20 hours leaving the
"Adolfo Suárez
Madrid–Barajas Airport
Aeropuerto Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas"
and the 4349 meters runway "Three-six-left"
The load is 100%, mostly biz looking like pax and there are also standby clients at the gate.
Well, I´ve had a somewhat tough time to explain the guy in the window seat that window means by the window and this is exactly what my boarding paper shows and definitely not someone else´s!.
The dark cabin, oldfashioned is the best description, really well used, but the legroom is ok
Cabin crew is one middle aged male and one elder female both on the biz friendly track at it´s best.
Service is buy on board.
No, never been there before, no way and this looks really like a spanish plane
Cockpit crew is from Spain, the "Piloto" with a very short info in spanish only, prior to approach into "Asturias Airport
Aeropuerto de Asturias"
No route or flightlevel info.
Yes, this is a spanish plane, ok we know!
2200 meters or runway "Two-Nine", 7.30 pm and this is 10 minutes ahead to schedule at 8 dry degrees. Lonely, so lonely at the completely dark apron
Bye now to this all white machine, I hope to see just a little bit more colours soon
No checked luggage means I´am usually much faster out of the terminal than the other pax. But not here, it seems there is close to no one aboard with checked luggage what means also that the range of available taxistas out there is limited.
I usually try to stay in contact with the hotel about transport options, no response this time.
The one and only taxista quoted a lazy 30.00 Euro´s for the hotel.
30.00 Euro´s?. Let me quit, that´s only by emergency for me.
There is a bus stop, I know, but there is no stop around my hotel on the menue.
Well, the bus arrives, piloted by a nice elder woman.
Just some two or three other pax
around.
Nice people here in Espagna, nice service here by ALSA, definitely,
she confirmed, she will do an swift extra stop and show me the hotel.
Supernice service here at 3.00 Euro´s only.
And so it works perfectly for the Castillo de Gauzon
A nice small place it is, managed by a senior couple not that really frequent in english, that might be also the reason with the no mail response, but I recommend this place for a short stay not far from the "Aeropuerto de Asturias"
It´s dark outside, sure time now to catch some sleep?. No way, you know, that doesn´t prevent me from a short walk.
Someone out there for a ride on a
cute and cozy car like this?
Down for the "Ballermann", no, wait this isn´t the Playa de Palma, this is the "Balneario"
And the nice beachfront,
if only Swiss European and it´s nice FA´s fly this way!
The sea is still at work, also during the night!
The "Real Club Nautico" looks like up-to-date
Lonely, now I feel really lonely, that might be better to walk with someone like these nice Sw.....,
well, simply better to walk with someone else along the deserted streets and back for the hotel, where there is breakfast on offer.
But wait, isn´t there this short night in between?. Ok, it is!.
And believe me, the senior woman on duty also with her very limited english knowledge doesn´t let me go again without a healthy breakfast in the morning, no way, so nice service here
Bye now to the Castillo de Gauzon, there is something more to fly like this:
Here are the conclusions:
1.)Swiss European STR-ZRH: Short flight and a supernice FA.
2.)Swiss ZRH-MAD: Welcome to the sharklets.
3.)Swiftair MAD-OVD: Ok so far with the full service.
Despedida, take care.
